Lonnie Fox Raymond was 16 when she found a Bud Light cue with a screw-on tip at a Detroit-area flea market and drew the ball on every shot, the only thing she knew how to do. After so many Michigan women's titles that she figured the field was sick of her, she jumped to the men's masters, where a future touring pro said she had no business playing. Six years later she swept the 8-ball and 9-ball titles. Now she's a WPBA pro with 30+ state titles, a 2023 VNEA Hall of Famer, and the voice of the WPBA's live streams. We discuss the warm-up Dee Adkins taught her for reading a new table, why banging balls at the bar isn't practice, why decision making beats technique, and why pool's organizations are on a collision course.
