Make Billiard Practice Fun by Playing a Bullseye Game
Enhance your practice sessions with the vast array of games available through the Bullseye Billiards Book and Target Set, designed for engaging fun by yourself or with friends.
Here are some games that you can play:
Game - Around the World
Around the World is a single-player game in which you shoot each shot until you make it at the desired level (green, red, or black). This will give you a taste of the variety of shots billiards has to offer.
Setup
On the scoresheet, write your name and circle a specified level. Begin with the green level and then progress to the red and black levels to increase the challenge. Start with shot #1 and place the balls and target on the table according to the diagram.
Object of the Game
For each shot, pocket the object ball and land the cue ball on the target for your specified level (green, red, or black). Landing the cue ball in the black also counts for red and green levels, and landing the cue ball in the red also counts for the green level.
Game Play
Shoot each shot in the book according to the diagram for the shot. If the cue ball lands on your specified level, then cross out the shot on the scoresheet and move on to the next. If you are having difficulties with a particular shot, then skip it and come back to it later.
Winning
The game is won when all shots have been completed at the specified level.
Game - Shot Count
Shot Count is a single or multi-player game where each player shoots one shot 10 times in a row. This will provide the repetition necessary to master the shots, one at a time.
Setup
On the scoresheet, write each player’s name. Select a shot to use for the game and then place the balls and target on the table according to the diagram.
Object of the Game
For the specified shot, pocket the object ball and land the cue ball on the target as close as you can to the center of the target.
Game Play
Each player shoots the specified shot 10 times. If the cue ball lands on the target, then mark down the score as follows: 3 points for landing the cue ball in the black, 2 points for the red, and 1 point for the green.
Winning
The player with the most points at the end of the game is the winner.
Game - SHARK
SHARK is a multi-player game in which each player takes turns challenging all the other players to make shots. The game is played exactly like the basketball game of H-O-R-S-E.
Setup
Determine an order for players and keep to this order for the duration of the game. The first player will start the game as the first “leader.”
Game Play
The leader sets up any shot (object ball, cue ball, and target), declares a level (green, red, or black) and attempts to make the shot. If the leader makes the shot as called, then the next player attempts the shot in the same way as the leader. If the next player makes the shot, then each other player takes their turn to make the leader’s shot.
If the shot is missed by the leader, then the next player becomes the new leader. If the shot is missed by a player that is not the leader, that player earns a letter added to his or her score and the next player becomes the leader. Letters are added starting with “S” then “H,” “A,” “R,” and finally “K.” If a player’s score spells “SHARK,” he or she is out of the game.
Winning
The game is won when only one player remains.
